The 2025 Sacred Space Conference is slated for Thursday, March 27th, through Sunday, March 30th, at the Sheraton Baltimore North hotel in Towson, MD. Workshop and Ritual Proposals are being accepted now through September 1st, 2024.
We use a peer review process for selection based on methods used in academic scholarly communication. The qualities we are looking for are:
-The material should be appropriate for an intermediate to advanced audience (erring on the side of advanced). [Please note, almost all our attendees have at least 10 years experience and the median is closer to 25.]
-Originality
-Quality
-Relevance/Importance
-Balance within the program
-Logistic possibility within a hotel
-Appropriate for a 90 minute program slot
Those who are accepted will receive free attendance at the conference. We also staff a table for our teachers where we can sell books/media on their behalf.
Also, if you will need audiovisual support (projector, screen, audio) PLEASE be sure to include that information in the form. You are expected to bring, and be able to operate, your own computer or device from which to run your files. The schedule is designed so that we do not have more people requiring equipment in one time slot than we have equipment to provide. If you do not tell us your AV needs in this form, we cannot guarantee we will have it for you. The conference can set up the equipment, but cannot provide staff to run it for you during your session.
All classes and rituals must be open to all attendees. If a workshop or ritual includes explicit sexual content, including but not limited to nudity, any demonstration or practicum on sexual content, it MUST BE DESCRIBED AND EXPLAINED in the application and teacher or ritual leader must spell out what, specifically, what is going to be done in the class/ritual description. This is important for the purposes of informed consent.
Thank you and thank you for submitting your proposals! Our conference can only be as good as the pool of submissions from which we can draw.
